Novo Poder

Hip Hop is composed of 4 elements: break, graffiti, MC and DJ. Without these united elements, what we know as HIP HOP could not exist. The emphasis since its inception has been community. Collectivity that brought voices in cities and countries that were not imagined that they could have voices in a culture, thus creating a New Power - Hip Hop.

Thinking of visual elements that could fit the concept of "collectivity", "union" and "complement", I noticed that placing the word "Novo" "Poder" one below the other, the letter "O" is in exactly the same position. Rotating one word at an angle of 45º and another at -45º I find the perfect fit. So at that moment is the concept of the playlist. One word complements the other, bringing this idea of bonding and unity that make Hip Hop happen.

​​​​​​Visual references and condensed typography were inspired by protest posters, bringing this imposing and striking tone. The color palette also emerged from the observation of old music posters with those marked degradations and strong and vibrant colors.
